Snow for the First Day of Winter

For the first day of winter, I'm posting 10 photos of men in the snow.
We start with a guy who is about to go skiing in the buff.

Limbering up

This guy looks like he's doing some stretches to limber up.

Skiers.

I think these skiers are mid-20th Century Germans.

Crystal Ridge 1930

This is a snapshot from a camping trip a group of men
made to a place called Crystal Ridge in 1930.

Longjohn lineup

These soldiers are lined up in their longjohns outside a mountain barracks.

Bear

Not all bears hibernate.  This one is making
snow angels and kicking up his leg.

Nudist

Blog viewer Trevor sent me this photo of a nudist making a woman out of snow.
Thanks, Trevor!

Footprints

On this blog we've seen lots of naked men leaving footprints in the sand,
but this guy is leaving them in the snow

LA Trollops

I think this is a pack of LA trollops who got rounded up
and taken into the mountains for a winter photo shoot.

Swedish

Our last photo is one that I posted over five years ago without knowing its background.
The photographer was Swede Samule Lindskog, and the year was 1913.

Arthur Tress Day

Arthur Tress' work and personal image turn up all over the place in 1970s and 80s gay themed photography, so it's way past time for another day dedicated to him on the blog.
We start with Man in Black Tape, N.Y.

1970s, no title

We have no title for this 1970s Arthur Tress work.

Hooked on Love

Mr. Tress called this one Hooked on Love.  I don't have a date for it,
but the grafitti on the walls makes me think it's post-1985.
I'm posting it anyway because I really like it.

Mountain Fantasy

After Dark magazine apparently declined to publish
Mountain Fantasy when Arthur Tress sent it to them.

Man on Steps

Here's an example of Arthur Tress' penchant for ruins and abandoned buildings.
This one is Man on Steps from 1980.

Blue Collar Fantasy

I really like the industrial gear in Blue Collar Fantasy from 1979.

The Music Lesson

This is The Music Lesson from 1974.

First NYC Gay Pride

And of course Arthur Tress was there with his camera
at the very first New York City Gay Pride celebration.

1970

This untitled piece is from 1970.

Road Kill

I thought a fitting end to the Arthur Tress series might be Road Kill.

Early 20th Century, Mostly French

I recently acquired a number of early 20th Century French male nudes, only a few of which had photographer attributions.  All but one or two of today's set are from that group,
starting with a man who had to be an athlete.

Bountiful Booty

Those of you who appreciate a bountiful booty will no doubt like this one.

One happy Frenchman!

What we have here is one very happy Frenchman.  And why not?
He has a great deal to be happy about.  You'd think I'd be jaded
by now, but I can't get over how charming this one is.

La Culture Physique

This attractive man appeared in the French magazine, La Culture Physique.

"Athletes"

Although the photo has a modern feel to it, a very reliable
source described it as "Athletes, early 20th Century."

1929

A company called Atlas issued this as a postcard in 1929.

Anatomical

This one reminds me of Paul Richer's anatomical stuidies,
but the source did not identify it as such.

Deriaz

My source only identified this hunk as one of the seven Deriaz brothers, but he looks like Maurice to me.  And yes, the other six were comparably blessed with good looks and builds.

In the style of . . .

I found this one in a collection of French photos
described as "in the style of Prof. Desbonnet."

Which German?
