Men Shaving Day

I haven't shaved in 53 years, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy looking at pictures of naked or nearly naked men doing it.  Today we'll see eleven, starting with this photo that I acquired from Mr. Scumbeast who described it as "delightful."  I can't argue with that.  He's the only
guy in today's set who's using an electric razor, fwiw.

Military

My source said this man was part of a "photographic reconnaissance unit, 1940"
without specifying which army or part of the world.

David van Brunt

This is David van Brunt from Playgirl's June of 1983 edition.

Mr. Right

Only Mr. Right is shaving, but the others are worth a look.

Annoyed?

He looks like he may be annoyed by the photographer.

Bill Mahoney

The verso of this amateur photo says "Bill Mahoney Shaving."

Dodgers

These guys are some of the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers.

AMG

One online auction website says young man with an all over tan and a furry bottom
this is an unknown AMG model.  I got it during the sack of tumblr.

WWII German

Here we see a World War II German soldier using a railway
switch wheel as a table for his shaving gear.

Seated

This fellow looks like he's sitting on the edge of a concrete sluice channel.

Repeat

I decided to end the shaving set with a repeat from five or six years ago which is my all time
favorite photo of this type.  The happy nudist was on a camping trip in the American West.

Pages from Physique Pictorial

We were due for an AMG series, so I decided to run ten pages from Physique Pictorial,
starting with this cover featuring Jerry Ross.  Some of these will display some
of Bob Mizer's cryptic descriptive squiggle, so guides are below.

Jack Harris

I really like this photo of Jack Harris.

Corey Snow

Corey Snow was described by Bob Mizer as "a pleasant agreeable fellow"who "unfortunately ran off with the automobile and jewels of the person with whom he was making his home in Hollywood."

Brian Argus

Brian Argus went into the U.S. Army the day after this picture was taken.

Michael O'Shale

This spectacular photo of Michael O'Shale give some interesting biographical info.
At the end of the blurb, Bob Mizer has something interesting
to say about Perry Fuller, his artistic collaborator.

Ed Miller and Steve Baker

The Mexican blanket in this photo of Ed Miller and Steve Baker
reminds me of one used by George Quaintance.

Johnny Stumps

Bob Mizer did a repeat run of this picture of Johnny Stumps with the usual ordering opportunities
for more.  Although I have run other photos from the same shoot, this one is a first for VMM.
Interestingly, the blurb under the photo is an appeal for movie scripts from readers.
He says not to worry if you think they aren't very good, and from what I've
seem of Mr. Mizer's films, it wouldn't take much to please him.

Bill Grant

Bob Mizer refers to this model as William Grant, despite the fact that he went by Bill
throughout most of his career.  Perhaps that was so as to not confuse him with the white
model of the same name who also posed for Physique Pictorial some years earlier.
As many of you know, this Bill Grant was Mr. Universe.

Gable Boudreaux

Easy to see why Bob Mizer did some heavy promotion of Gable Boudreaux.  He appeared
several times in Physique Pictorial, always with opportunies to by more of his material.

Tor Gustaf

Closing with a photo of Tor Gustaf.  The lengthy blurb below the picture is a reader's complaint
about Bob Mizer's bondage images being too tame.  Mr. Mizer was unapologetic.

Karlheinz Weinberger

Two and a half years ago I reorganized my photo file organizing system, and somehow my pictures by Swiss photographer Karlheinz Weinberger ended up in the wrong group of folders.  Well, I accidentally rediscovered them the other day, so here's a new series of his work.  We start with a guy in what appear to be a farmer's hat and motorcycle boots.

Vacation

This one was taken on a summer holiday trip to the Mediterranean.

Leather

While I don't quite understand the headgear, the leather jacket is an
element that appears fairly often in Weinberger's photos.

Not Early 20th C.

When I first saw this photo, I thought it was an early 20th Century work.
Imagine my surprise to find out it was by Karlheinz Weinberger.

Ditchdigger Tan

I really like this picture of a beefy man with a ditchdigger tan.

Longhair

I suppose they had hippies in Switzerland, and of course Karlheinz Weinberger photographed some.

Tank top

The lighting and distressed tank top make this one a bit special.

Wrestler

Mr. Weinberger had a sideline of photographing sports figures for Swiss magazines and newspapers.  His usual subjects for this were wrestlers, weightlifters, and bicycle racers, and the example above is one of the less polished of the type.  I chose this shot of a wrestler and his manager waiting in the wings at a match because of a certain bulge.

Having a good time

This unknown model seems to be having a good time.

Hairy

And last, but not least, we have a hairy biker.  I know he's a biker because he appears
in other Weinberger photos in his motorcycle club leathers with insignia.
