Nudists Wearing Hats

Today's theme is nudists wearing hats.
This one has a very wide brim.

Convention

The American Sunbathing Association was planning
their convention when this was taken.

Musical Procession

These two are leading some sort of musical procession.

Fisherman

I think I found this fisherman on a French website.

Happy

Here we see a happy fellow in a baseball cap.

Group

These men, three of whom are wearing hats,
appear to have won a volleyball prize.

Dixie Cups

Our second color photo of the set shows a man
handing out drinks in Dixie cups.

Worker

I think this guy is working on the stage for a nudist beauty pageant.

Official?

The guy wearing the hat here appears in a number of nudist photos
where he appears to be working in some official capacity.
In this one, not so much.

Cowboy

The last guy with a hat today is wearing a cowboy hat with laceup shoes and white socks.

Ralph Kelly Day

I don't have a large collection of Ralph Kelly's work, but thanks to some recent finds,
I have enough unposted work for a full set.  We start with Keith Stephan.

Unknown

This heavily tattoed model is unknown . . .
and would you look at that bush?

Joe Leitel

Even in a posing strap, a serious Joe Leitel looks good.

Bob Cutlass

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Unknown Pair

I haven't been able to find names for these two handsome models.

Steve Marl

I could do without the cigarette, but Steve Marl makes up for it.

Joe Tiffenbach

I was pleased to recently find this "new" photo of Joe Tiffenbach.

Bob Gentry

This shot of Bob Gentry in the surf is unusual
in that Ralph Kelly outdoor work is somewhat rare.

Herbert Hansen

The posing of Herbert Hansen is a bit awkward,
and it reminds me of Kovert of Hollywood.

Les Petroff

Finishing the Ralph Kelly series with Les Petroff, a model who always seemed to look a bit rough around the edges.  His modeling career extended long enough that his growing collection of tattoos can be tracked across it.  I don't know if he ever got the chest pieced finished, though.

Archery in Art

Today we look at archers in a variety of art media,
starting with this bronze sculpture by Otto Lessing.

Thomas Nast

American artist Thomas Nast did this drawing of a man with an imaginary bow.

Bronze Medal

An online auction website says that this is an early modern Olympic bronze medal, but they gave no date or other provenance.  I would be very careful before bidding on such an item.

Mueller Crefeld

This 1920 piece is by Mueller Crefeld.

Louvre

Detail from a Greek ceramic in the Louvre dated 510 BC.
Signed by Epiktetos as painter and by Pamphaios as potter.

Millais

My source says that The Archer by Millais is from 1847.

Julius Schmidt

Nice derriere on this one by Julius Schmidt.

Hunting Scene

This 1903 hunting scene is Bogenschutzen (Archers) by Fritz Boehle.

Johann Schadow

This early 19th Century relief in bronze is by Johann Schadow.
It's another example of the imaginary bow.

Ceramic Plates

The ceramic plate above was designed by Samara for the Montieres Company in 1929.
Below, we have a Swedish piece celebrating a Stockholm archery competition in 1942.

Hercules the Archer

This is a copy of Antoine Bourdelle's Heracles the archer from 1909.

Victor Mueller

Our final archery art piece is an academic drawing by Victor Mueller from 1847.
