Dean's List

Roy Dean's 1980 coffee table book, The Dean's List, was shot here in Hawaii, although I have doubts about one or two of the photos.  Today we will look at ten images from the book.

Dean's List - 9

I wonder what page 9 was pointing at.

Dean's List - 12

Number 12 is an unusual pose.

Dean's List - 15

I really like the languid pose and idyllic setting in Number 15.

Dean's List - 20

Number 20 is posed dramatically atop some big rocks.

Dean's List - 22

Model 22 posed perched in a tree overlooking a bay.

Dean's List - 29

While I don't like the cropping at the left side, #29 is still a nice picture.

Dean's List - 34

Number 34 may have been taken somewhere other than Hawaii.
Brick walls are relative rare here.

Dean's List - 39

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Dean's List - 50

Ending the Dean's List set with #50, a man who almost has a fig leaf.
Well, he is in the banyan roots, which are in the fig family.

Artistic Nudist Day

Today I wll be posting ten photos showing 1960s nudists at art related activities.
We start with a guy looking at something off camera.

Older fellow

Several of today's men appear to be middle aged or over.
This guy goes in the senior category.

Looking

Is he looking at the picture or the female's chest?

Sculptor

I wonder if this fellow was actually the sculptor
or just admiring the statuette.

Cropped

I cropped a woman out of this one.

Painting a pair

There are a pair of female models off to the right.
You can see on of their feet in the margin.

Beatnik

The sunglasses and the goatee scream early 1960s beatnik.

On his knees

I'm no artist, but wouldn't it be easier to buy an easel that's tall
enough rather than do one's painting on one's knees?

Holding

This guy is holding what appears to be a picture of a naked woman.

Seen before

Our last artistic nudist is a middle aged gentleman
who has appeared here on the blog in other settings.

Vic Seipke Day

You might not recognize him, but this is Vic Seipke, and it's his day on the blog.

Color slide

This color slide by Spectrums shows Vic Seipke on a lake shore.

Posing Strap

Even in a posing strap, Mr. Seipke impresses.

Dramatic

I don't know what sort of drama is behind this pose,
but it works well enough to show of the muscles.

Two Versions

A slightly different crop of the same photo was used for the American
and Japanese versions of Muscle Power magazine around 1956.

Bamboo?

I'm not sure, but that may be a rolled up bamboo mat behind Vic Seipke.

Young days

Vic looks younger in this unattributed photo.  The cropping of his arms
is unfortunate, but it is still an enjoyable picture.

Vim

This Vim cover is from 1955, and Vic Seipke had a full section of photos inside.
They were by Douglas of Detroit, and one is shown below.

Domestic scene

I'm not sure what that thing is that Vic Seipke is looking at on top
of the chest of drawers, but he looks very good doing it.

Color

This looks like on of a series of color slides of Mr. Seipke done by Spectrum Studio.
I am not completely positive about that however.

Sword

I don't have a photographer attribution for this one,
but it looks like the work of Douglas of Detroit.

Repeat

Closing out Vic Seipke Day with a repeat from almost five years ago.
