G-Rated Sports Day

Today we will look at some testosterone infused G-Rated sports photos.
We start with the 1910 Penn U. rowing team.

Inverted

All of these gymnasts are nice, but the inverted guy is outstanding.

Sturdy in Estonia

Estonia hosted the World Wrestling Championship in 1922, and this was part of their national team.
Quite the sturdy group, and even the coach seems to be built like a brick shit house.

Gymnastics

I suppose this is some sort of gymnastics exercise.

Outdoor workout

I think this is an early 20th Century German health resort for men.

House of David

The House of David was a cult founded in Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1903.  It was best known for its touring baseball team which is sometimes called the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball.  The men did not shave or cut their hair, and they were supposed to practice sexual abstinence.  That didn't work out too well, however, and group broke up under a cloud of sexual abuse accusations.

Milwaukee

George Silk took this photo in the Milwaukee Braves treatment room in 1956.

Czechs 1882

This is the Sokol Athletic Union of Prague, one of the earliest gymnastics associations anywhere.
The occasion for this photo was the group's 20th anniversary in 1882.

Boxers

The man at center is California rancher Harry Rowell, and he is shown
with some unnamed boxers he sponsored around 1930.

Acrobats

Here we have a group of seaside acrobats . . . or are they gymnasts?

1953 Seattle Rainiers

Our last group is made up of 1953 Seattle Rainiers baseball players Merrill Combs,
Gordon Goldsberry, Artie Wilson, Clarence Maddern and Bill Evans.

Artsy Photos Day

Today I'm posting ten photos from my "Artsy" fine.
We start with Mel Fellini by Otto Maya.

Fun

Sometimes art can be fun.  This was made in an unknown studio in 1935.

Unknown

I have no information on this one, but I do find it quite artistic.

Jeff Palmer

Nude in Shadow by Jeff Palmer was made in 1985.

Secret Wound

This is The Secret Wound by Michel Giliberti from 1950.

Two Dancers

Fuyuki Hattori took Two Dancers in 1985.

Professor Iyer

An unknown photographer took this photo of Professor K.V. Iyer in 1936.

The Flame

I really like The Flame by Paul Blanca from 1980.

Lucien Clergue

Nude at Yosemite was taken by Lucien Clergue in 1974.

European Photographer Day

Today we look at eleven European photographers' work,
starting with this unknown by Frenchman Bob Harvest.

Peter Ramm

Although far from perfcct, this John Paignton Barrington photo
or Peter Ramm is a bit better than his usual work.

Jimmy Damane

Luc Geslin of France took these photos of Jimmy Damane.

Furlog of Denmark

An unknown model posed for this impressive photo by Furlog of Denmark.

Ted Walker

Englishman Peter Dobing took this photo of Ted Walker.
It appeared in the art section of Tomorrow's Man.

Per Taboldy

This is Per Taboldy by Foto Grafo of Sweden.

Fernando Varella

I think Arthur Craig, the photographer who took this photo of Fernando Varella,
is a British physique photographer.  I'm by no means certain of that, however.
If anyone has any info on this subject, please comment.

Bud Lanter

I recently acquired this "new" photo of Bud Lanter by Jean Ferrero.

Serge Hubret

This is Serge Hubret by Stan of Sweden, a photographer who specialized in bodybuilders,
unfortunately nearly all wearing pants.  Still, some of his photos are quite sexy,
and you may see a G-rated series of them here in the not too distant future.

Jean Merlier

Here we see an artfully lighted Jean Merlier by Arax Studio of Paris.

Ted Gutteridge

Our last picture of the day is Ted Gutteridge by Royale Studio of London.
