Familiar
I keep thinking I should recognize this model. Hopefully someone
will ID him because I'd really like to see more.
Real sailor?
The uniform top this model is sitting on might be his own,
or it might be a physique photographers wardrobe prop.
Wishing for more
This is yet another sailor who leaves me wishing for more,
both in terms of no posing strap and different photos.
A real one?
If that jumper is British, as I suspect, this might be a real sailor because several of the English physique photographers were known to recruit actual servicemen to pose for them

PaJaMa Day, Part 1 - Assorted Photographs
Today's PaJaMa series will be a three parter, and part one consists of some assorted photos, starting with this unknown (at least to me) model sitting against a wall on a dropcloth.
Jack Fontan
I don't have an exact date for this PaJaMa photo of Jack Fontan, but it is probably late 1940s.
I do, however, have a location, Fire Island.
PaJaMa Day, Part 2 - Ted and Chuck Reprise
A while back I posted a PaJaMa series of photos of star crossed lovers Ted Starkowski and Chuck Howard. Since then I have found three more photos from what has become known as "The Stairwell Session," and the make up part two of today's set. We start with Chuck Solo.
Together
And here are Ted and Chuck together. I posted a similar photo of the two in the same spot in the stairwell a few years ago, but this one is different and more charming in a way.
PaJaMa Day, Part 3 - The Smithsonian Donation
After her husband Jared French's death Margaret Hoening French donated several boxes of PaJaMa Collective photographs to the Smithsonian Instution. Many of these are either "down and dirty" proofs that were used as studies for art or quick snapshots of mediocre quality. Some however, are either artistic or of important individuals. Part three of our PaJaMa series features some of the latter, starting with this beautiful 1939 image of a man in a semi-outdoor shower.
George Platt Lynes
This is the great George Platt Lynes, a photographer
of male nudes who was not afraid to pose nude himself.

1969
It's time for another series based on a single year. This time, it's 1969.
I don't know if this guy is preparing food or calling bingo.
What's his name . . .
Scott Masters took this 1969 photo of Brian Norton aka Don Landrum aka Don Kennedy.
I have a feeling that none of those might have been his real name.
Beach Bear
I really like this photo of a bear doing piggyback at the beach.
Or is he an otter? Either way, he looks happy.
Demetrius
I have seen this photo of Demetrius dated as 1969 and as 1971.
If he didn't work for Colt Studio, he should have.
That damned war
Although not as bad as the preceding year, 1969 saw some of the worst fighting in the Vietnam War. Arriving at the University of Texas that year, I immediately joined the anti-war movement and was surprised to find many veterans on the picket lines and in the marches. They knew better than anyone what a complete waste the whole thing was. I hope the two men above made it home OK.
And finally, a wish granted
A few weeks ago, I posted a black and white version of this photo from the waist up in a Pat Rocco series. Along with several commentators, I lamented that I didn't have a more complete version or more photos. Well, here is the more complete color version, but I am still looking for more.
